Privacy policy
This publication collects as little as a website reasonably can. The sections below say exactly what that means in practice.

1. Who is responsible for this site
The Night Notebook is published by Good Neighbor Labs Co. LLC. That company is the party responsible for this website and for answering questions about it. Any question relating to this policy can be sent to hello@goodneighborlabsco.com, and we will answer from the same address.
2. What we store on your device
One item, and only after you dismiss the notice at the bottom of the page: a key named wgrCookieConsent written to your browser's local storage with the value accepted. Its single purpose is to stop the notice reappearing on your next visit. It carries no identifier, is not read by anyone but this site, is never transmitted to us, and disappears the moment you clear site data in your browser settings.
This matches what the notice itself says: a short notice runs on first visit because we would rather say plainly what happens: nothing is tracked, and your dismissal is kept locally in your browser so the notice does not return. If you never dismiss the notice, nothing is written at all.
3. Cookies
We set no cookies. There are no advertising cookies, no analytics cookies, no social network cookies, no session cookies and no third-party tags of any kind on this site. The consent key described above is local storage rather than a cookie, and it is functional: it remembers a dismissal and nothing else. Because we set no tracking technologies, there is no consent choice to configure beyond dismissing or ignoring the notice.
4. What we do not collect
We do not operate accounts, logins or profiles, so there is nothing to register and no password to lose. We do not run contact forms, comment threads or newsletters, and we do not build mailing lists. We take no payments and hold no payment details of any kind. We do not fingerprint devices, do not attempt to identify readers across visits, and do not buy, sell, rent or share reader data, because we do not have any to share.
5. Server logs
Like any site, this one is served by a web host, and hosting infrastructure keeps short-lived technical logs — typically an IP address, a timestamp, the file requested and a user agent string. These logs exist for security and for diagnosing faults; they are handled by the hosting provider under its own arrangements, are not combined with anything else, are not used to profile readers, and are not used for marketing. We do not extract, export or analyse them for editorial purposes.
6. Email you send us
If you write to hello@goodneighborlabsco.com or editorial@goodneighborlabsco.com, we hold your message and address for as long as needed to answer it and to keep a record of any correction it produced. Those messages are used only for correspondence. We do not add correspondents to any list and we do not pass messages to third parties. Ask us to delete an exchange and we will, unless it documents a published correction, in which case we keep the substance and remove your details.
7. Outgoing links to Google Play
Every game on this site links out to its own listing on Google Play. Those links open in a new tab and are marked so that search engines do not treat them as endorsements. Once you follow one, you are on a Google service and Google's own privacy terms and data practices apply to what happens there — including anything you install, purchase or sign into. We receive nothing back: no notification that you clicked, no confirmation of an install, no commission and no identifier. We have no relationship with Google LLC beyond being a reader of its public listings.
8. Fonts and other third-party resources
Two typefaces are loaded from Google's font service so that the page reads as intended. Requesting a font file involves your browser contacting that service, which will see the request in its own logs under Google's terms. Everything else on this site — stylesheet, script, images — is served from this domain. There is no advertising network, no tag manager, no embedded video, no social widget and no analytics platform anywhere on the site.
9. Children
This is an editorial publication written for a general adult readership and it is not directed at children. We knowingly collect no information from anyone, of any age. Games covered here carry their own content rating on their Google Play listing, and that listing is the authority on suitability; parents and guardians should check it before allowing an install.
10. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of personal information held about you, and to object to certain processing. Because the only personal information we hold is correspondence you have chosen to send us, exercising those rights is usually a single email to hello@goodneighborlabsco.com. We will confirm what we hold, act on the request, and tell you plainly if a legal reason prevents us from doing so. You can also remove the local consent key at any time by clearing site data in your browser.
11. Retention
We keep correspondence for as long as the matter is open and a reasonable period afterwards, then delete it. The local consent key lives in your browser until you clear it, and is not retained by us at any point. Published editorial pages, including corrections, are kept indefinitely as a record of what we said and when.
12. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the revised version will appear on this page with a new date at the top. Substantive changes will be described in the text rather than absorbed silently. Continuing to read the site after a change means the current version applies to your visit.
